About

Vinyl-Tek Shutters & Blinds was Founded and began manufacturing Shutters in Etobicoke, ON, in 2002. Before this Vinyl-Tek Shutters & Blinds was solely a Blinds Manufacturer since 1994.

Throughout the years, Vinyl-Tek Shutters & Blinds has been key in the development of new technology like the Catch-less Receiver, an innovative frame system. All 4-sided frames are accompanied by catch-less receivers which eliminate the use of magnets for closing the Shutter Doors.

Vinyl-Tek Shutters & Blinds was also the major leader in the development of a new Tilt-Bar technology that strengthened the tilt-bar ten-fold. Before our adaption, clients had extensive problems with weak tilt-bars that would break off easily.

From our location in Etobicoke, ON, we slowly moved to Woodbridge, ON. Where we made our home and grew exponentially for over 10 years. Flash forward to March 2016, we made our most recent move, to a large 40’000 square foot manufacturing facility in Brampton, ON, right off the 407 series highway. This move was pivotal to the growth of our company as it allowed us to increase our manufacturing to 6’000+ Square feet of Shutters per day and hundreds of blinds.

Now, Vinyl-Tek Shutters & Blinds continues to serve our trusted licensed dealers throughout North America. From Nevada, USA, to Nova Scotia, Canada. We have our foot in every market coast to coast.

What separates Vinyl-Tek Shutters & Blinds from the rest?

Our Vinyl Extrusion. Vinyl-Tek Shutters & Blinds is the only manufacturer in the industry that extrudes our own vinyl, this enables us to beat every competitors pricing, as we have full control of our production from beginning to end.

Why don't other companies Extrude Vinyl?

The technology and skill required to extrude vinyl is very extensive and requires a vast amount of space, which other companies simply do not have available.

What is Vinyl Extrusion?

In basic terms, the raw mix which includes PVC resin, impact modifiers, UV stabilizers, heat stabilizers, and flow agents are melted and forced through a heated screw and barrel that forces the melted compound through shaping dies, downstream tooling, and cooling baths to obtain the final rigid profile.

Vinyl profiles are run continuously and are cut as they come “off the line” by a sliding saw. The skill and equipment required to create high-quality profiles that are consistent and meet specifications is significant.

Many of the important properties of these vinyl profiles are determined by the characteristics of the PVC compound from which the pipe is extruded.

This is what separates Vinyl-Tek Shutters & Blinds from the others and why we are proud to say we are always... A Step Above The Rest.
